HOW TO APPLY

There are no costs associated with any opportunities except for sending out targeted emails. Please refer to泭this泭brochure for more details.
On- campus events
  • Presentation: in the evening directly to students. You provide guest speakers, PowerPoint presentations, and perhaps pizzas, followed by a networking opportunity.泭We provide you with the venue, equipment, advertise on CareerHub, and a host to support you during the event.泭
  • Pop-up stand: Set up a stand泭(pull-up banners & merch) outside lecture theatres for a couple of hours during the day. We provide you with a table, advertise on CareerHub ,泭and help you set up in the open space.

Online events:

We are now offering the option of hosting online presentations through Zoom/Teams.泭

  • We recommend organising this from 11.45 am - 12.45 pm during term times.泭
  • We help you with advertising on CareerHub & facilitate the session (introducing you and the company), you set up the meeting (link from your end), and present.泭

Catering

  • You will need to organise catering from your end. UC hosts will help you set up the food during the day.
  • Please contact the caterer to make arrangements: / / Moveable Feasts / 泭or local pizza delivery companies: /

This is based on feedback we have received from our students:

  • Share what students can expect during your application process
  • Bring recent graduates who can talk through their own graduate journey working with you
  • Showcase examples of work/projects they will work on
  • Provide insight into your work culture and what makes you excited to go to work in the morning
  • Outline growth opportunities and let students network with you after your presentation
  • You could also make it interactive: live demo, problem-solving activity, case study competition, etc.

泭is our Jobs Board that is used by all eight universities across New Zealand. If you have any questions related to the platform, please contact泭Sanda Jukic泭(Service Delivery Manager, NZUni Talent). All 厙ぴ勛圖 students are automatically registered onto the platform and our students tend to scan the site regularly.泭

It's UC policy to only advertise roles (targeted email) that are published on NZUNi Talent. To learn about cost for targeted email, please contact sneha.pardeshi@canterbury.ac.nz

Advertising employment opportunities to our students can and does happen throughout the year, however, some泭 periods see higher levels of recruitment engagement and these are outlined below:

  • Business and Law: February, March April
  • Engineering: February, March, May, June

Please dont consider these as the only time you can advertise as this is not correct, but some of the larger Accounting, Law, and Engineering firms do come to market for their internship and graduate programmes at these times.

We recommend reviewing the泭厙ぴ勛圖 key dates泭for the academic year to also assist you when planning to go to market.

We hold a Business and Arts Careers Fair, Law Recruitment Evening (both in early March), STEM Careers Fair (early May), and a Volunteering Expo annually (late July/early August).

Please visit the泭Career fairs and expo page泭for more information about these events and how you can register to participate. Please note, that registrations open in early December for the following year.
