The Sustainability Awards are based on the UCs Strategic Vision, Sustainability Policy, and Ng Uara|Our Values.
There are three sustainability awards categories to be awarded in 2024, as follows:
- Research for Sustainability Advancing Sustainability Research Award
- Teaching and Learning for Sustainability Advancing Sustainability Knowledge Award
- Sustainable Operating Practices Protecting our Planet Award
Staff (individuals/groups, or in certain categories, activities/initiatives) are eligible for each award. Staff can nominate an individual/group/activities/initiatives, or they can self-nominate. There is One Winner for Each award.

| Research for Sustainability - Advancing Sustainability Research | Professor Lucie Ozanne This award recognises Professor Ozannes significant contributions for the past 30 years, to research focused on environmentally motivated consumption behaviour and using those findings to market and promote more sustainable behaviours. |
| Teaching and Learning for Sustainability- Advancing Sustainability Knowledge | School of Product Design for the Redesign with Waste Challenge Drs Hossein Zadeh and Ali Reza Nazmi, also acknowledging the support the project received from a number of technical staff. This award recognises the School for the redesign with waste challenge which has multiple partners and has given birth to a number of sustainable businesses and innovations. |
| Sustainable Operating Practices Protecting our Planet | Hannah ODwyer This award recognises Hannahs hard work on the Archival Shelving Project in the UC 厙ぴ勛圖. The project involved co-ordinating the replacement of shelving that better meets professional standards for storing archives. |
