Open Day is an awesome opportunity to discover everything about life at UC. Join us for tours, activities and advice to help you make the right choice for your tertiary education.

HOW TO APPLY

R Tmene | Open Day泭is your chance to experience everything UC has to offer in one action-packed day.

Youll be able to explore campus and halls of residence, attend information sessions on your study options, chat with advisors about enrolment and courses, enjoy good kai, and much more...

You can challenge your friends and whnau to a gumboot throwing match or test your ability at the Battleaxe.

Weve got live music, freebies, food trucks or head to our UC photo wall where you can snap a pic with your mates to remember your day.

There will also be faculty activations that will showcase whats in store for you while you are studying at UC.

So grab your friends and whnau and join us for R Tmene | Open Day. We look forward to seeing you on campus!

What's on at Open Day

Got questions? Head to the Information Huba vibrant, market-style space where you can explore marquees hosted by UC staff and student representatives from faculties, schools and services. Whether you're after advice on泭student life or study options, the Information Hub is the perfect place to get the answers you need.

Have a specific question about accelerated options, discretionary entrance, or how STAR courses might affect your plans? Visit the Info Hub on Open Day or book an appointment to chat with a Future Student Advisor.

Gain a deeper understanding of the subjects you're interested in through our Information Sessions. Led by UC staff, these sessions cover the structure and content helping you understand what to expect and how to plan your study journey. We also have a variety of sessions designed to help you get a better understanding of life at UC and in tautahi Christchurch.

Parents/whnau: We offer a session specifically for parents and whnau where you'll gain valuable insights into how to support the university journey. Please ensure you register yourselves for all sessions that you will be attending.

Join the Future Student Advisor team for a practical session to help you plan your first-year courses across a wide range of degrees. Well walk you through the enrolment process, share useful resources, and answer your questions, so you can feel confident and excited about starting at UC in 2026.

This is the same session we deliver in schools across Aotearoa, so if youve already attended a school visit, you may not need to come again to the Next Steps sessions on Open Day.

The Scholarship team will be in the Matariki Gallery on R Tmene | Open Day to answer any questions you have about scholarships.泭

You will find the Accommodation Team in Haere-roa. They are there to answer any queries you have about the application process, key dates and tips for completing your accommodation application.

Halls of residence tours are managed by each hall.泭 On the day, you can make your own way to the halls or use the hop-on hop-off bus leaving from Ilam campus and head to their reception where you will be taken on an organised tour.泭 The team at each hall will show you around and answer any hall specific questions. You do not need to book泭 accommodation tours.

Come along and explore the amazing facilities we have to offer at UC. From lecture theatres to social study spaces, there is something for everyone to see. Our experienced tour guides will show you around campus, sharing insight about our Ilam campus.泭

Discover how the library can support you in your studies at UC. From online and physical resources, specialist one-on-one support to our art, archives, and wellbeing spaces - the libraries have you covered. Come and meet our friendly library staff and learn whats on offer. Our library sessions have reached capacity, but theres still plenty on offer. 厙ぴ勛圖 staff will be available throughout the afternoon to answer your questions and are running drop-in tours, so you can explore the space and learn more at your own pace.

Explore the state-of-the-art Digital Screen facilities on Dovedale Campus during Open Day. From 2pm to 4pm, enjoy a self-guided tour through cutting-edge educational spaces, including industry-level sound stages, a virtual production screen, motion capture labs, and film editing studios.

Attendees of the Digital Screen session can join a walking bus to Dovedale Campus directly after the session.

Please register for the Digital Screen session to help us gauge numbers. We look forward to seeing you there.

Join us on a tour around our Fine Arts studio spaces during Open Day.

Join us after our Fine Arts session at 11am as we walk over for the first tour of the day. Or feel free to drop by our buildings for tour times starting at 11.45am, 12.30pm, or 1.15pm.

No need to register for our Fine Arts tours. Just turn up at one of the mentioned times.
